Millikin Track Competes at Friday Night Spikes Event

The Millikin men's and women's Indoor track and field teams had solid performances at the Friday Night Spikes #3 hosted by Rose-Hulman University in Terre Haute, Indiana on January 31.
 
The Big Blue men tied with DePauw University for second place with 30 points behind meet winner Washington University-St. Louis with 37. The Millikin women were third with 22.5 points behind WashU with 82.5 and DePauw with 24.
 
In the men's competition, Millikin won the 4x200 Relay in a school record time of 1:29.88 with Dayton Lasack, Colin Griffin, Emmett Emmons and Emmanuel Nwatu running legs.
 
The Big Blue team of Lasack, Griffin, Emmons and Awstace Grauer won the 4x400 in 3:22.59.
 
Nwatu finished in second place in the 60 Meter Hurdles in a school record time of 6.44 seconds.
 
Grauer finished in second in the 400 Meters in 51.71 seconds.
 
Christian Skaggs was second in the 800 Meters in 1:58.73.
 
Cole Pemble was second in the Long Jump at 6.48 meters (21-3.25).
 
Kyle Hensley was second in the Pole Vault at 4.95 meters.
 
Ibrahim Diakite finished second in the 60 Meters in 7.05 seconds. His prelim time of 7.03 seconds was sixth fastest in the event in school history.
 
Hunter Danberry finished in third in the Weight Throw at 15.13 meters (49-7.75)
 
In the women's events, Millikin won the Women's 4x200 Relay in a school record time of 1:47.03 with De'Andranay Chism, Zena Roberts, Mikayla Cowart-Toral, Alayna Schultz
 
Chism set another school record in the 400 Meters winning in a time of 57.88 seconds.
 
Millikin took three of the top four finishes in the Long Jump. Cowart-Toral finished in second place at 4.87 meters. Roberts was third at 4.85 and Katie Janvrin was fourth at 4.82 meters.
 
Janvrin finished second in the Triple Jump at 10.43 meters.
 
Hailey Newill finished tied for second in the Pole Vault at 3.22 meters.
 
Hannah Sago tied for third in the High Jump at 1.58 meters, tying her second place mark on the Millikin Women's Indoor Track Performance List.
