Men’s Tennis Downs Illinois Wesleyan in Rescheduled Match

The Millikin men's tennis team headed to Bloomington, Ill. for a rescheduled matchup with the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 16. Millikin was victorious in the match by a score of 6-1. 

Clayton Maack and Matthew Kordesh teamed up for a No. 2 doubles victory against Ryan McCoy and Thad Dillow, downing them 6-4, with Esteban Durand and Max Macke picking up a win at No. 3 over Griffin Hammond and Chase Tomecki in a 7-5 tiebreaker to take the doubles point. 

On the singles side, Maack downed Ben Vignieri at No. 2 after losing the first set 4-6, bouncing back to win 6-1 and 11-9 in the tie breaking set. At No. 3, Cole Phillips defeated McCoy 6-2, 6-1. Then, Kordesh took down Dillow, bouncing back from a 4-6 opening set loss to win 6-4, 10-3 at No. 4. Durand picked up a win at No. 5 over Hammond in 6-2, 6-3 sets, then Macke completed the victory with twin 6-3 victories over Tomecki at No. 6. 

The Big Blue men's tennis team will be back in action on Friday, April 18 when they meet Elmhurst for a CCIW matchup.
