Outdoor Track Battles Weather at True Blue Invite

For the second straight weekend, the Millikin men's and women's Outdoor track and field teams have competed in rainy and cold weather conditions this time at Illinois College's True Blue Invite on April 4 in Jacksonville, Illinois.

The meet had several events canceled after a several hours long weather delay early in the competition. No teams scores were reported.

Millikin won three events in the men's competition. Dayton Lasack won the 400 Meter Hurdles in 54.51 seconds.

Cole Pemble won Long Jump with a jump of 5.93 meters (19-5.50).

Matt Gowen won the 5000 Meters in 15:48.23.

Reece Butcher finished in second in the 800 Meters in 1:59.74.

Brandon Mattsey was third in the 1500 Meters in 4:08.90

Chris Ketchum finished third in the High Jump at 1.75 meters (5-8.75).

Kyle Hensley finished in third in the Pole Vault at 5.00 meters.

In the women's competition, Millikin's De'Andranay Chism won the 400 Meters in 1:01.29.

Teyla Wendt won the 5000 Meters in 20:36.19.

Millikin took the top four spots in the Women's Long Jump with Mikayla Cowart-Toral 5.10 (16-8.75). Zena Roberts was second at 5.08 meters followed by Katie Janvrin at 5.03 and Hillary Owens at 4.84.

Maddie Maragni was second in the 100 Meter Hurdles in 17.92 seconds.

Hannah Sago was second in the High Jump at 1.58 (5-2.25).

Brooklynn Sweikar finished in third in the 800 Meters 2:34.38.
