Diakite Wins at Augustana Qualifier

Millikin freshman Ibrahim Diakite turned in a stellar performance at the Twilight Final Qualifier at Augustana College on May 14 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Diakite won the 200 Meters in a school record time of 20.94. At the time of the event finish, the performance ranked fifth fastest in NCAA Division III in 2025 and should lock Diakite into the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships when the field is announced on Friday. Diakite broke the Millikin record that was set back in 2000 by Big Blue track legend Carl Alexander at 21.15 seconds. Alexander was a seven-time All-American including the 2018 National Champion in the 100 Meters.

While not competing at Augustana, Millikin sophomore De'Andranay Chism looks to securely in the national championship field in the 200 Meters at 23.78 meters. Big Blue sophomore Kyle Hensley is tied for the top Pole Vault mark in Division III this season at 17.0 feet and is a lock for the nationals where he will be going for his fourth All-American honor.
