Millikin's Diakite Named CCIW Male Athlete of the Meet

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team had several strong individual and rely team performances at the 2025 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 2-3 at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Millikin finished in fourth in the men's team standings with 85.5 points. The Millikin women were ninth with 39 points.
 
After Kyle Hensley won the Pole Vault on Friday, Millikin freshman Ibrahim Diakite was the CCIW Champion in the 200 Meters in 21.19 seconds, which is second fastest in Millikin history. Diakite earned All-Conference honors in the 100 Meters with a second-place finish in 10.66 seconds.
 
Several other Millikin athletes earned All-Conference honors by finishing in the top eight of their individual events or top four in relays.
 
First year sprinter De'Andranay Chism earned All-Conference in two events and broke her own Millikin school record in each. Chism finished second in the 200 Meters in a school record time of 23.78 seconds and she was third in the 100 Meters in 12.03 seconds breaking her own Millikin record.
 
Diakite was named the CCIWMale Athlete of the Meet and Chism was named the CCIW Female Newcomer of the Meet. 

Millikin had two All-Conference performances in the 800 Meters with Reece Butcher finishing in third in 1:56.86 and Christian Skaggs was fourth in 1:57.17.
 
Dayton Lasack finished third in the 400 Meters in 54.34 and was sixth in the 110 Hurdles in 15.69 seconds.
 
The Big Blue's 4x400 Relay was second in 3:16.96, the third fastest time in school history. Diakite, Lasack, Emmett Emmons and Awstace Grauer running legs.
 
Millikin finished in third in the Men's 4x100 Relay in 41.88 seconds with Jayvon Irwin,  Diakite, Lasack and Julian Keith running legs.
 
Emmons was fifth in the 400 Meters in 50.30 seconds and seventh in the 200 Meters in 22.36.
 
Olmstead finished in fifth in the 5000 Meters in 14:54.82.
 
Jack Pearce finished in fifth place in the Decathlon with 4694 points.
 
Matt Gowen was seventh in the 1500 Meters in 4:01.37.
 
Qowiyu Amunda tied for seventh in the High Jump at 1.83 meters (6.0).
 
In the women's competition, Hannah Sago finished in second place in the High Jump at 1.58 meters (5-2.25). Alexis Wike finished was seventh at 1.55 meters (5-1).
 
Brooklynn Sweikar was seventh in the 800 Meters in 2:20.45.
 
Audrey Remole finished eighth in the Heptathlon with 3584 points the third highest total in Big Blue history.
 
On Friday, Hensley won his fourth CCIW Championship in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.90 meters (16-0.75).
 
Olmstead earned All-Conference by finishing third in the 10,000 Meters in a school record time of 30:56.43.
 
Haylee Yelle earned All-Conference honors in the Women's Pole Vault tying for third place at 3.38 meters (11-1).
