Jasper Luckritz Joins Big Blue Athletics as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

The Millikin Athletic Department recently announced the hiring of Jasper Luckritz as the first standalone strength & conditioning coach in school history.

"Millikin University is committed to providing students with the expertise and opportunity to maximize their potential:  in the classroom, as a part of the campus community, and in the areas for which they have a passion," Vice President for Athletics & Community Engagement, Lori Kerans said.

Big Blue Athletics recently opened the Rathje Athletic Center in August of 2025 with a brand new weight room facility, meeting rooms, a locker room, and offices for the football and men's and women's soccer coaches.

"The opening of the Rathje Athletic Center this Fall provides the first-class facility and equipment, and the addition of Millikin's first ever full-time Strength and Conditioning Coach provides our Big Blue student-athletes the expertise and inspired instruction; the heart and grit to achieve their potential is up to the student-athletes," Kerans said.

Luckritz most recently served as a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant at Indiana State University, graduating with his Master's in Sports Management. In his time with the Sycamores, he was the head of women's soccer and softball training and assisted with the implementation of football training.

He completed his undergraduate work with a degree in Strength & Conditioning at Central College in Pella, Iowa where he served as an intern for the Central Strength & Conditioning staff. During his undergraduate studies, he served as an intern with the Iowa State Football program during the summer of 2022, assisting coaches in all facets of the strength & conditioning program.

"I am excited to begin building the Millikin Strength and Conditioning program on all levels," Luckritz said. "Our mission will be to develop a championship level training environment across all teams. This will be accomplished through carefully curated programs and by taking a person first approach; inspiring student-athletes to become better people and champion athletes."

Luckritz is a National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), passing the certification in January of 2024.

"I would like to thank Lori Kerans and the rest of the search committee for this one of a kind opportunity," Luckritz said. "Additionally, I also want to thank my family, fiancée, and mentors for all of their unconditional support and guidance."

He recently competed in the 2025 USA Weightlifting University National Championships in Ohio where he took second place overall, earning Gold in Snatch and a Silver medal in Clean and Jerk.
