Charley Condill named CCIW Hitter of the Week

NAPERVILLE — Following weekend non-conference competition, the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its latest Softball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. This week's honorees were Millikin junior outfielder Charley Condill and Carthage sophomore pitcher Anais Fernandez.
 
Hitter: Charley Condill, Millikin
Condill earned Hitter of the Week honors after producing at the top of the lineup across four games. A junior outfielder from Arthur, Ill., Condill batted .769 (10-for-13) during the weekend. In a doubleheader sweep of Illinois College, she finished 5-for-6 with four runs scored and five stolen bases, including a 3-for-3 showing in the opener. Her offensive production helped the Big Blue move to 10-9 heading into conference play.
 
Pitcher: Anais Fernandez, Carthage
Fernandez was selected as Pitcher of the Week after leading Carthage to a 6-2 victory over No. 15 Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Galewood, Ill. native worked a complete game in the circle, allowing two earned runs on eight hits over 7.0 innings. She earned her second win of the season.
