Big Blue Baseball Falls in Series Finale

Box Score     The Millikin baseball team lost 3-0 in the final game of its conference series at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin on April 19.
    The game was scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when Carthage's Graham Wick had a two run single.  A Matt Rave RBI single gave the Red Men an insurance run in the eighth inning.
    Millikin was held to five hits in the game with freshman Julian Gutierrez collecting two hits.  Big Blue starter Max Paolicchi pitched well allowing five hits and two earned runs over six and two-thirds innings.
    Carthage's Jared Helmich threw a complete game shutout striking out four.
    Millikin is now 14-16, 5-10 while Carthage improves to 21-7, 10-5.
    Millikin will host Illinois College on April 21 at 2 p.m.
