Millikin Swimmers Sweep Knox

          The Millikin men's and women's swimming team defeated Knox College in a dual meet at the McIntosh Pool in Decatur, Illinois on January 30.  The Millikin men won 66-63 while the women won 111-61.
          In the men's competition, Millikin had four different event winners.  Matthew Vangunten won the 100 Butterfly in 1:02.75 and the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:08.96.
          Tyler Via won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 25.04 and the 200 Yard Freestyle in 56.53.
          Spencer McGowan won the 200 Yard Freestyle in 1:55.52.
          Keegan Duesterhaus won the 200 Yard Individual Medley in 2:13.48
          In the women's competition, Millikin had four event winners with Sabrina Cipolla and senior Shelby Kobs each winning two events.  Cipolla won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 28.48 and the 100 Yard Freestyle in 1:02.4.  Kobs won the 200 Yard Individual Medley in 2:24.54 and the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:15.68.
          Sami Battle won the 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:03.63.
Caroline Lodovisi won the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:46.04.
          The Millikin women won the 200 Yard Medley Relay in 1:58.98 with Emily Nielsen, Kobs, Lodovisi and Battle swimming legs.   
          Millikin honored six seniors swimming their final home meet during the events.  Seniors being honored included Tess Adamonis, Serenity Barron, Kobs, Randi Mehrmann, Nielsen and Emily Vana.
          Next up for the Millikin swimmers is the CCIW Championships to be held February 11-13 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
