Callaway Named CCIW Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin's Nathan Callaway, Aurora's Luke Silva and North Central's Julian Valtierrez have been voted to share the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Callaway (Aurora, Ill., Marmion Academy) went 4-0 with all bonus-point wins to win the 157-pound bracket of the Millikin Open last week.

Silva joined Callaway as bracket winners at the Millikin Open. The Crystal Lake, Ill. native went 4-0 over the weekend to win the 174-pound tournament. His victories include three pins and a major decision.

Vatierrez earned a 13-5 major decision last Thursday night in the Cardinals' CCIW dual versus Wheaton, bringing his overall record to 7-0 on the season.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.), Carroll University (Waukesha, Wis.), Carthage College (Kenosha, Wis.), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, Ill.), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, Ill.), Millikin University (Decatur, Ill.), North Central College (Naperville, Ill.), North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.).
