Casillas Ready to NCAA Championships

Millikin University first-year wrestler Mateo Casillas is ready to do battle at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 13-14.

Wrestling at 197 pounds, Casillas (28-4) opens the competition with a preliminary round match on Friday morning against Gabe Monroe (24-7) of the Coast Guard Academy. A win over Monroe, would pit Casillas against the top seeded DJ Henry (26-3) The College of New Jersey in the first round. Casillas has faced Henry once this season falling 9-3 on January 8.

Casillas was the 2026 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Champion at 197 pounds and advanced to the NCAA Championships with a third place finish in the Region V Regional winning four straight consolation round matches.
