Six Millikin Athletes Headed to NCAA Outdoor Track Meet

          DECATUR, Illinois—Millikin University senior track athlete Ben Kuxmann (Bourbonnais, Bradley Bourbonnais H.S.), sophomore Jake Shumaker (Decatur, Mt. Zion H.S.) and the 4x400 Relay Team of Hailey Wimberly (Salem, H.S.), Eryn Renison (Channahon, Minooka H.S.), Lovenya Perry (Rantoul, H.S.) and Mackenzie Dixon (Edwardsville, Mascoutah H.S) have been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held May 26-28 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
          In the field announced on May 20, Kuxmann and Shumaker will be competing in the 800 Meters. Kuxmann qualified for the NCAA Championships with the fourth fastest time in the field at 1:49.19. Kuxmann established the Millikin school record time winning the 800 Meters at the Carius/Gregory Invitational earlier this month. Shumaker's qualifying time is 1:51.34.
          The 4x400 Relay Team qualifying time was 3:53.48.
          In March, Kuxmann finished in third place at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships in the 800 Meters in 1:52.68. Kuxmann finished in third place in the 800 Meters at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Athletes with the top 20 times nationally in each event were selected to participate at the NCAA Division III Championships. The top 16 relay teams made the field.
