Millikin Men Second at CCIW Outdoor Track Championships

The Millikin men's track team finished in second place at the 2023 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The Millikin women finished in seventh place.
 
The second place finish by the Big Blue men was Millikin's best finish in the team standings since 1963. Millikin had 135.5 points to finish just behind first place North Central at 152.5. The Millikin women's team scored 72 points. The Millikin coaching staff was named the CCIW Men's Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Millikin had several outstanding performance with Student-athletes needing a top eight finish to earn All-Conference honors.
 
The Big Blue won the Men's 4x100 Relay in 41.27 seconds, which is second fastest time in Millikin history. Kemper Koslofski, Colin Griffin, Emmanuel Nwatu and Caleb Bleich ran legs for Millikin.
 
Millikin is the CCIW Champion in the Men's 4x400 Relay as well in a school record time of 3:15.71. Participants including Bleich, Dayton Lasack, Griffin and Jake Shumaker.
 
Nwatu earned his second CCIW title winning the 110 Hurdles in 14.76 seconds. Lasack was fourth at 15.87 seconds. He finished in third place in the 400 Hurdles in 54.12 seconds, which is second fastest time in Millikin history.  Nwatu was named the CCIW Outdoor Track Newcomer of the Meet.
 
Millikin finished second and third in the 1500 Meters with Austin Bridgman coming in second at 3:53.86, which is the third fastest time in school history. Bradyn Olmstead turned in Millikin's fourth all-time fastest time to finish in third in the event at 3:54.58. Olmstead finished in third in the 5000 Meters in a school record time of 14:52.21. Gabe Bush was eighth in 15:18.27, which was the third fastest time in school history.
 
Shumaker finished in second in the 400 Meters in 48.46 seconds tying the Big Blue school record. Caleb Bleich was third at 49.55 seconds. Shumaker was fourth in the 800 Meters in 1:55.18.
 
Griffin and Koslofski turned in another All-Conference performance in the 100 Meters. Griffin finished in fourth at 10.89 meters and Koslofski was sixth at 10.98 seconds.
 
Griffin and Nwatu continued their stellar day in the 200 Meters with Griffin finishing in third at 21.78 seconds. Nwatu finished fifth at 22.25 seconds.
 
Millikin had two All-Conference performances in the High Jump. Glenn Powers was third at 1.92 meters with Nick Fornoff finishing in fifth at 1.89 meters.
 
Senior Kristian Boado finished in seventh in the Discus in 42.14 meters. On Friday, Boado finished fifth in the Hammer at 52.19 meters.
 
In the women's competition on Saturday, Alyssa Ruiz finished in second place in the 1500 Meters in 4:44.82. Ruiz was second in the 800 in 2:19.24 with Katie Risner finishing in sixth at 2:26.92.
 
Maria Lambert finished in fifth in the 100 Meters in 12.35 seconds with Itzel Garcia coming in eighth at 12.58 seconds. Garcia was fourth in the 200 Meters in 25.58 seconds with Lambert coming home in seventh at 25.82 seconds.
 
Hannah Sago finished fifth in the Women's High Jump at 1.53 meters (5-0.25).
 
Elizabeth Hulick finished in fifth in the 5000 Meters in 18:30.83.
 
Ari LeFaivre finished sixth in the 400 Meters in 1:00.29.
 
The Big Blue had two All-Conference performance in the Triple Jump.
Katie Janvrin was sixth at 10.69 meters and Sago was seventh at 10.48 meters.
 
The women's 4x400 Relay Team turned in an All-Conference performance with a fourth place finish in 4:04.89. Garcia, Ruiz, Riser and LeFaivre ran legs for Millikin.
 
On Friday, in the men's competition, freshman Thomas Hills finished third in the Long Jump at 6.92 meters and Bleich was fourth at 6.78 meters.
 
Millikin's Corey Cebulski tied for fourth in the Pole Vault at 4.33 meters (14-2.5), which was the fifth best performance in school history.
 
Roy Baggio was sixth in the Javelin at 44.58 meters.
 
Bush was seventh in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase in 9:37.04, which is third fastest in school history.
 
In the women's competition, senior Katie Abell earned All-Conference honors in two events. She finished sixth in the Javelin in 31.34 meters and was eighth in the Hammer at 44.86 meters.
 
Garcia was fifth in the Long Jump at 5.33 meters (17-6).
 
Adriyanna Patterson was sixth in the Hammer at 47.20 meters.
 
Two Millikin athletes earn All-Conference in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.
Quincy Collings was sixth in 11:50.21 and Hailey O'Malley was seventh in 11:51.60.
