Swimming Falls in Dual with Olivet Nazarene

The Big Blue men's and women's swim teams traveled to Bourbonnais, Ill. for a dual meet matchup with Olivet Nazarene, an NAIA program on Saturday, January 11. In the dual meet, Millikin fell on the women's side 28-187 and the men were bested 28-201.

The relay team of Kendall Rossignol, Yoanna Barajas, Aly Barnes, and Abigail Penning placed third in the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 2:00.58.

Rossignol placed second in the 200 yard IM in 2:35.11 to score four points for the Big Blue. Barajas scored three points with a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle. Barnes was the third place finisher in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.52. Rossignol posted another third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing the race in 1:20.61. Barnes scored four points for MU in the 500 yard freestyle, notching a time of 5:42.60.

Dawsen Loafman placed third in the men's 100 yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 58.25. Ridge Batchelor placed third in the men's 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:27.44.

The Big Blue will be back in action on Friday, January 17 when they head to Bloomington, Ill. for a combined dual meet with Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois College.
