The Millikin women's golf team competed in the Golfweek October Classic tournament held at Sandestin Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Fla on October 12th-14th. The annual Golfweek tournament is one of the premier events of the fall season featuring a field of top teams in the country. The women competed at the scenic Links Golf Course.
In the first round, the Millikin women shot a 349 lead by junior Ava Hackman, firing an opening round 83. The rest of the counting scores consisted of junior Madelyn Beck 88, and sophomores Zoey Beard 89, and Ruby Haegen 89. The team found themselves in 22nd place in the 24 team field after day one. In round two, the Big Blue had one of their best rounds of the fall season shooting a team score of 324, led by Haegen's stellar performance of 6-over par 78. Beard and Beck improved from round one shooting 81 and 82 respectively while Hackman matched her 83 from the first round. The Millikin women moved up to 21st and held that position through the completion of the tournament. The team shot a final round of 343. Haegen was Millikin's top performer in the tournament finishing tied for 85th place. This tournament concludes the fall portion of the season.
