Millikin Track Wins 14 Events in IWU Tri Meet

The Millikin men's and women's track and field team won 14 events and set two school records at the Illinois Wesleyan University Tri Meet on Feb. 21 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois.

In the men's competition, Millikin's Emmanuel Nwatu won the 60 Meter Hurdles breaking his own Big Blue record in 8.24 seconds.

Freshman Ibrahim Diakite finished first in the 60 Meters followed by Colin Griffin with each turning in a time of 6.99 seconds.

Millikin won the 4x400 Relay in 3.22.65 with Dayton Lasack, Diakite, Emmett Emmons and Griffin running legs.

Big Blue freshman Reece Peters won the 1 Mile Run in 4:22.08 seconds.

Emerson Thorlton won the 3000 Meters in 9:19.6.

Robbie Vavrick won the Shot Put with a throw of 12.59 meters (41-3.75).

Chris Ketchum tied for first in High Jump at 1.80 meters (5-10.75).

Cole Pemble won the Long Jump at 6.79 meters (22-3.5).

Kyle Hensley won the Pole Vault 4.55 meters (14.11 inches).

In the women's events, De'Andranay Chism continued her dominating first college Indoor season winning the 60 Meters in 7.77 seconds and she finished first in the 200 Meters in 24.75 seconds.

Zena Roberts won the Long Jump with a school record performance of 5.41 meters (17-9.00). Roberts finished in second place in the 200 Meters 26.91 seconds.

Hannah Sago won the High Jump in 1.60 meters (5-3.00), which ranks second all-time at Millikin

Haylee Yelle won the Pole Vault at 3.26 meters (10-8.25).
