Millikin names CCIW Academic All-Conference Honorees

DECATUR, Ill.—Millikin University, in conjunction with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), announces its Jack Swartz Award Recipient and the CCIW Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference team for winter season of 2024-25.

Dayton Lasack and Aly Barnes were selected as the Millikin recipients of the Jack Swartz Award. Both athletes excelled in the classroom and led their teams in athletic performance. Lasack, a junior hailing from Deerfield, Wis., posted an individual podium finish at the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Indoor Track Championships, finishing in second in the 400 meters in a time of 50.11 seconds. He set a Millikin record for the 400 meter race this winter, running the race in 49.15 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Invite in February. He ran a leg on the second place 4x400 relay along with Ibrahim Diakite, Colin Griffin, and Emmett Emmons. The conference finish in the 4x400 was third best in Millikin history, but Lasack has been a member of the top five relay teams in the event in school history, with the best mark coming last season in 3:16.98. Barnes, a senior from Jackson, N.J., has been a constant on the podium at the CCIW Swimming Championships since her freshman year. This season, she placed third in the 100 yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 53.28. She added a fourth place individual finish in the 200 freestyle and a fifth place finish in the 50 freestyle. Barnes holds three school records, with the top time in history in the 200 freestyle, 200 backstroke, and the 200 IM, all of which she set as a freshman.

Each season the CCIW selects an Academic All-Conference Team. To be recognized, the student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student; completed two semesters of study at Millikin; must participate in a varsity sport during the 2024-25 winter season; and must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
