Men's Golf in Second after First Round of 2025 CCIW Championships

The Big Blue men's golf team traveled to Peoria, Ill. and WeaverRidge Golf Course for the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Golf Championships beginning Thursday, May 1. After the first round of three, Millikin is in second place after an even day with a team score of 288. Fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan topped the leaderboard, shooting an opening day 280.

Virgile Gruny leads the way for the Big Blue in second place individually, shooting an opening round 69. Luke Bradley in in eighth with a 72, and Mateo Oneglia's day one 73 has him in a tie for tenth heading into round two.

The Big Blue were picked to finish fourth in a tight pre-championship coaches' poll. Millikin will return to WeaverRidge for round two of the 2025 CCIW Championships on Friday morning.
