DECATUR, Illinois— Change is in the air for the Millikin Men's Soccer program as it heads into the 2025 season. After graduating a large senior class, the Big Blue will field a noticeably younger roster this fall. But with a strong core of returners and an exciting group of newcomers, Millikin is aiming to build on last year's progress and make a deeper run in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament.
 
Leading the way are key returners Olav Kaldahl and Bryce Davis, two players the Big Blue will count on heavily this fall. "They know what it takes to compete in this league, and their leadership will be huge for such a young roster," said Head Coach Ward.
 
Millikin's freshman and transfer class brings new energy and talent to the lineup. Brandon Robinson, a technically skilled player, is expected to make a great impact for the team. Mikkel Opdahl has already impressed the coaching staff with his rapid development. This presents an exciting look into the upcoming season and group as a whole.
 
The Big Blue's schedule features several big matchups. A clash with Washington University in St. Louis is circled after last season's result. Coach Ward is excited for the matchup with Rockford University and the battle with North Central College looms large after the Cardinals ended Millikin's season a year ago.
 
Millikin is also calling on its fans to pack Franklin Field for the October 11 showdown against Carroll University at 3 p.m. "We really want our fans out for that Carroll match," Ward noted. "It's a big one for us, and student energy can make all the difference."
 
With a youthful roster, the focus is on growth, development, and building a strong solid foundation for the future. "If we keep building the right way, this group can accomplish some special things," said Coach Ward. The Big Blue open their season Friday, August 29, at the Frank M. Lindsay Field.
