Biggerstaff earns CCIW Golfer of the Week Nod after Record 63 at Highland Championship

NAPERVILLE — A Millikin-record round of 63 vaulted Trevor Biggerstaff to medalist honors at the season-opening Highland Championship in Rock Island and secured College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon.

Biggerstaff, a sophomore from Canton, Mo., hit the MU record in Sunday's opening round at Highland Springs Golf Course. It was also a new tournament record and tied the course record. In Monday's final round, Biggerstaff carded an even-par 72 to win the tournament by one stroke over teammates Jake Bollinger and Luke Bradley.

The Big Blue won the team title by 31 strokes, finishing the 36-hole tournament 30 shots under par.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, Ill.), Carroll University (Waukesha, Wis.), Carthage College (Kenosha, Wis.), Elmhurst University (Elmhurst, Ill.), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, Ill.), Millikin University (Decatur, Ill.), North Central College (Naperville, Ill.), North Park University (Chicago, Ill.) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, Ill.).
