Campbell Earns CCIW Wrestler of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE — Millikin senior Leno Campbell has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Fred Johnson Duals last Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.

Competing at 285 pounds, Campbell went 3-0 on the day with two falls and a major decision, helping Millikin record three dual victories at the event hosted by Augustana. The Big Blue remained unbeaten as a team behind Campbell's efforts.

Campbell delivered the decisive result in Millikin's opening dual against Carthage. Trailing 22-12 entering the final two bouts, Millikin closed the gap before Campbell secured the comeback with a 48-second pin of Chris Gielow to seal a 24-22 victory. He followed with a 13-5 major decision over Augustana's Teke Nieto in a 30-17 win and closed the day with a fall against Colton O'Hern in a 41-11 victory over Buena Vista.

Campbell improved his season record to 13-1 while helping Millikin maintain a 12-0 overall mark and a 6-0 record in CCIW dual competition.
