Millikin Wrestling Competes at NCAA Regional

The Millikin wrestling team have eight wrestlers still alive for national tournament berth after the first day of the 2026 NCAA Division III Regional for Region 5 being held at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio on Feb. 27-28.

Needing a top three finish to advance to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, the Big Blue wrestlers advanced to the semifinal round on Saturday. Five Millikin wrestlers suffered a loss, but are still alive for a third place finish.

Millikin seniors Chase Mirelez, Joey Jens and Leno Campbell all advance to their semifinal posting two win on Friday. Mirelez won by decision and by fall at 149. Jens won by major decision and decision at 165. Campbell scored two bonus point victories at 285.

Charlie Armstrong (133), Sabri Sino (141), Michael Hutchison (157), Kody Marschner (174) and Mateo Casillas (197) posted victories in the consolation round after Championship round losses.

The tournament concludes on Saturday.
