Sturtevant, WI – Millikin University Men's Golf was in action on Tuesday, taking part in second round action at the Carthage Classic. Millikin shot a 291 on day two to finish in 2^nd place out of the 16 teams in the field. Millikin led for a majority of the round, and would have won the event if it weren't for a superb finish by Aurora University, who claimed top honors.

Will Ross led the charge once again for the Big Blue. The senior shot a 71 to finish 3^rd with a score of 140 (-4). Jake Krstulovich shot an even par on day two, giving him a final score of 144 (E), and tying him for 8^th in the individual standings. Teddy Walbaum was tied for 10^th after the dust settled, shooting a 73 on day two to finish at 145 (+1) for the tournament. Trevor Biggerstaff bettered his opening round score of 76 by one stroke, finishing tied for 40^th with a 151 (+7). Dominick Emig's 78 gave him a final score of 153 (+9), good to tie for 49^th.

The Big Blue also fielded a B-team, which finished in 10^th place at 606 on the tournament. Jacob Armstrong and Colt Bryson led the way, each shooting a 150 (+6) to wind up in a tie for 34^th place. Alex McMillin fired a 78 to finish tied for 40^th at 151 (+7). Ethan Noellsch and Tyler Rea both shot identical 156s (+12) to tie for 65^th place.

"We had a real chance to win the golf tournament today." Said Director of Golf Sam Osborne '10 "It was fun to watch our guys battle. We took it down to the very end, and just came up a few shots short. I'm proud of how we responded to a few mistakes in both rounds. We went shot for shot with Aurora, who's a top ten team in the country, and I think it shows how competitive this group can be."

Millikin is back in action on September 20^th, when the Big Blue take part in the B Team Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
