Millikin’s Knighton and Hopper Named CCIW Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Millikin's Trey Knighton and Isaac Hopper were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday.
          Knighton, a junior midfielder from Peoria, Illinois and Notre Dame High School (Arts Technology major), tallied three goals and two assists for the 2-0-0 Big Blue last week. He scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute of a 3-0 win at 10th-ranked North Park on Saturday. Knighton also assisted on Takunda Jakachira's goal in the 62nd minute. Four nights earlier, he scored two goals in a 4-0 shutout over Illinois College.
          Hopper, a junior goalkeeper from Manhattan, Illinois and Lincoln-Way Central High School (History & Philosophy major), was in goal for all 90 minutes in the Big Blue's win at North Park on Saturday. He made nine saves in the victory over the Vikings. Hopper also played 76 minutes and made three saves against Illinois College last Tuesday.
