Millikin Track Claims Three Titles at CCIW Championships

After scoring an individual title in the men's pole vault on Friday, the Millikin men's and women's track and field team added two more conference championships at the 2024 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 3-4 at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.

On Saturday, senior Jake Shumaker won the 800 Meters in 1:50.34. Millikin freshman Nolan Bates finished in fifth place in 1:53.46 earning All-Conference honors.

The Millikin Men's 4x400 Relay Team claimed a CCIW Championship winning in a time of 3:19.35 with Colin Griffin, Dayton Lasack, Bates and Shumaker running legs.

Other Millikin athletes earning All-Conference honors with a top eight finish in their event included:

Emmanuel Nwatu was All-Conference in three events. He finished second in the 110 Hurdles in 14.81 seconds. Nwatu was fifth in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 58.24 seconds and seventh in the 200 Meters in 22.66.

Lasack was second in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 54.77 seconds.

Colin Griffin earned All-Conference in two events. He was fourth in the 200 Meters in 22.04 and fifth in the 100 Meters in 10.97 seconds.

The Men's 4x100 Relay team of Kemper Koslofski, Griffin, Nwatu and Caleb Bleich finished in fourth place in 42.33 seconds.

Senior Bradyn Olmstead was fourth in the 5000 Meters in 15:05.75.

Freshman Brock Richards was fourth in the 1500 meters in 3:58.26.

Bleich was sixth in the 400 Meters in 50.87 seconds and Awstace Grauer finished eighth in 51.35.

In the women's competition on Saturday, Alyssa Ruiz finished third the 1500 Meters in 4:48.04. Ruiz was sixth in the 800 Meters at 2:21.86 followed by Katie Risner in seventh at 2:29.25 and Krista Koke in eighth at
2:30.68.

Alexis Wike finished in third in the High Jump with Hannah Sago and Audrey Remole tying for sixth. All three athletes cleared 1.54 meters.

Katie Janvrin was fifth in the Triple Jump 10.89 meters (35-08.75).

On Friday, Kyle Hensley won the Pole Vault with a height of 4.88 meters (16-00). Corey Cebulski earned All-Conference honors with a seventh-place finish at 4.13 meters (13-6.50).

In the men's competition, Thomas Hills was All-Conference in the Long Jump with a fifth-place finish at 6.82 meters (22-4.50).

Olmstead set a new school record in the 10,000 meters in 31.16.77 placing sixth in the event.

In the women's events, Millikin had two All-Conference performances in the Pole Vault with Haylee Yelle finishing in fourth and Hailey Newill coming home in fifth. Both cleared 3.33 meters (10-11.00).

Quincy Collings earned All-Conference recognition with a fifth-place finish in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase in 11:37.46.

Janvrin finished in sixth place in the Long Jump at 5.25 meters (17-2.75).

Adriyanna Patterson earned All-Conference honors in the Hammer finishing in seventh place with a throw of 49.21 meters (161-05).
