Hermanson and Jones Tabbed as CCIW All-Conference

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin named their recipients of 2025 All-Conference honors on Friday, October 31. The Big Blue were honored with two student-athletes making the list, both on the second team. 

A four-time CCIW All-Conference selection, Elly Hermanson was named to the second team for the fourth consecutive season. The senior nursing major from New Lenox, Ill. was a defensive force for the Big Blue. She scored one goal on the season, mainly helping captain the Big Blue defensive efforts with 1,172 minutes logged across 17 games. 

Izzy Jones earned her second consecutive honor on the second team after being named the CCIW Newcomer of the Year last season. The sophomore computer engineering major from Olathe, Kan. posted a team-high five goals in 2025, adding two assists. She logged 1,295 minutes on the year, starting all eight conference matchups. 

The CCIW also honored their RESPECT Award winners, with Danielle Piper, a senior nursing major from Peotone, Ill. being tabbed with the honors. The CCIW RESPECT award is presented at the conclusion of every sports season with each varsity program recognizing one student-athlete. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
