The Big Blue Women's Soccer team earned five slots on the list of College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honorees for 2025.
To make the list, the student-athlete needs to be of sophomore standing or above and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5, in addition to on-field playing requirements. Honorees for the Big Blue includes Seniors Melis Barutcu, Corryn Adams, Erin Fleisher, and Kameron Zurzolo. Finally Sophomore, Izzy Jones were all recognized for their performance on and off the field.
Barutcu, a Senior from Springfield, IL. and majoring in Music & Phycology earned her second Academic All-District® honor. Appearing in 18 contests, Barutcu was the second highest leading scorer, with 4 goals.
Adams a Senior majoring in Biology (Pre-PA) from Kalamazoo, MI. Appearing in 18 conests, Adams had anchored the Big Blue defense throughout the season
Fleisher a Senior from Aurora, IL. majoring in digital media marketing. Appearing in 17 conests, Fleisher had contributed in the center of the field for the Big Blue.
Zurzolo a Senior from Cary, IL. majoring in Arts Technology. Appearing in 15 contests and Zurzolo had anchored the Big Blue defense throughout the season.
Jones a sophomore from Olathe, KA. majoring in computer engineering who also is honored with second team all-conference. Appearing in 17 contests, Jones led in goals with 5 under her belt.
