Millikin Wrestling Opens NCAA Regional Competition

The Millikin wrestling team had strong performance on the first day of the 2025 NCAA Division III Region 5 Regional at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana on February 28. The finals are on Saturday.

With the NCAA expanding the NCAA Division III National Tournament Field from 180 wrestlers to 210, a seventh regional was added. As a result of realignment, Millikin moved into the new Region 5 facing off against a few old regional foes and a large group of new programs from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Millikin had three wrestlers advance to the Semifinals with athlete vying for a top three finish to qualify for the NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships.

Returning All-American and four time College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Champion Dejon Glaster leads the Big Blue semifinalists. Glaster entered the event ranked fifth nationally at 174 pounds and added two more wins to improve to 28-2. Senior Coby Haney, ranked #13 at 133 pounds, had two bonus point wins to advance to the semifinals. He is now 26-3 on the season. Leno Campbell scored two wins at 285 top put himself in the top four.

Millikin's Cam Lee (125), Sabri Sino (141), Chase Mirelez (149), Joey Jens (165), and Benicio Martinez all suffered losses on day one, but battled to stay alive in the consolation round and shot a third place.
