Three Men's Golfers named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

The Golf Coaches Association of America named their NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, July 29. This season, three Millikin golfers were named recipients of the honor.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
202 NCAA Division III athletes from 78 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. Rhodes had six recipients, tied with College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Hawai'i, Mississippi State (NCAA Division I), and Texas Wesleyan (NAIA) for the most recipients from one school across all six divisions in 2024-25.

Jack Bollinger, a junior business major out of Morton Grove, Ill. was the first recipient. Bollinger posted a season average of 75.52 last season, shooting a low round of 69 at the Highland Classic to open the season and placing 15th at the CCIW Men's Golf Championships.

Luke Bradley, a junior sport & recreation management major hailing from Paris, Ill. also received honors. Bradley totaled an average of 75.26, placing 12th at the CCIW Men's Golf Championships this season and tallying his lowest round on day two of the Highland Classic, shooting a 70. 

Virgile Gruny is the final honoree, with the Lamorlaye, France native playing for the Big Blue while earning his Masters in Business Administration. Gruny totaled the lowest average on the team with a 74.26 for 2024-25, with a low round of 67 also coming at the Highland Classic.
