Box Score The Millikin men's soccer team opened its 2025 season on Friday, August 29 at Frank M. Lindsay Field, falling 8-1 to Washington University in St. Louis.
The Bears struck early, scoring three times in the opening 22 minutes, with two goals coming from Ethan Wirtschafter. WashU added five more goals in the second half, including two more from Wirtschafter, to extend their lead.
The Big Blue answered in the 79th minute when
Bryce Davis tallied his first goal of the season off a feed from
Landon Welch. Davis led Millikin with three shots on the night, while goalkeeper
Chase Mandra collected six saves in nearly 78 minutes of action.
Millikin was outshot 26-7 in the contest.
The Big Blue men's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 3, home at the Frank M. Lindsay Field, for a non-conference matchup with Illinois College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
