Casillas Named First Year Student-Athlete of the Year

Millikin wrestling took home three College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestling titles at the 2026 CCIW Wrestling Championships held on February 14 at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Millikin senior Joey Jens (165) and Leno Campbell (285) won their weight class along with Mateo Casillas at 197 pounds. Casillas accomplishment earned him the CCIW First Year Student-Athlete of the Year Award.

Millikin 2026 CCIW RESPECT Award winner was junior Charlie Armstrong a Biology major from Okeechobee, Florida. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
