Summer Wynn Tabbed as CCIW Hitter of the Week

NAPERVILLE — Strong individual performances helped shape this Monday's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Softball Student-Athlete of the Week honors, as Millikin's Summer Wynn received Hitter of the Week and Augustana's Addie Garr was named Pitcher of the Week.
 
Hitter: Summer Wynn, Millikin
Millikin's offensive honor went to Wynn following a four-game stretch in which she helped the Big Blue to doubleheader sweeps of DePauw and Elmhurst. A sophomore outfielder from Morocco, Ind., Wynn batted .636 (7-for-11) with seven RBI, three doubles and two home runs during the week. 
 
Her strongest outing came in the opening game of Millikin's Saturday doubleheader against Elmhurst, when she finished 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI in a 13-1 win. She also contributed a double and an RBI in the DePauw series.
 
Pitcher: Addie Garr, Augustana
After helping lead Augustana to a pair of victories, Garr collected the conference's pitching award. The freshman from Pierceton, Ind., went 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA over 13 innings. She earned the win against No. 17 Wisconsin-Whitewater last Tuesday after allowing one earned run on two hits across six innings, and she also added a home run at the plate in the victory. 
 
Garr followed with a two-hit complete-game shutout against Illinois Wesleyan on Friday, striking out four in a 5-0 win.
