Millikin’s Birt Named CCIW Wrestler of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Millikin senior Braden Birt was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday.

A senior Sports Management major from Epworth, Iowa, Birt helped the Big Blue improve to 9-0 in dual matches with victories at 165 pounds against Aurora and Augustana. Ranked first in Division III at 165 pounds, Birt recorded a first period fall in 2:36 against Aurora and added a 16-0 tech fall in 1:52 on Sunday against Augustana. On the season, Birt is now 13-0 overall. Birt has 130 career wins setting a new Millikin record.
