The College Sports Communicators released their list of 2024-25 Academic All-District® recipients for men's & women's basketball on Tuesday, March 25. The Big Blue had five total athletes on the lists, with three recipients on the men's side and two players representing the women's squad.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's & Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

On the men's side, senior JT Welch collected his third consecutive honor. The sport & recreation major hailing from Bloomington, Ill. averaged 8.5 points per game this season, starting 18 games for the Big Blue. Junior Chase Travis is a two-time honoree, with the junior biology major earning recognition. The Olney, Ill. native appeared in 24 games for the Big Blue this season, averaging 8.1 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. The final men's honoree is Lane Thomann, a sophomore from Mackinaw, Ill.
